Anne Heche hospitalized with burns after crashing into LA home – Deadline

Actress Anne Heche was hospitalized in critical condition with burns after her car crashed into a Los Angeles home, Deadline has confirmed. The news was first reported by TMZ.

The crash happened at 10:55 a.m. Friday in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, police said.

“The vehicle was heading east on Preston Way at high speed, entered the T-junction of Preston Way and Walgrove Ave, left the road and collided with the residence in the 1700 block of Walgrove” , said a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department. said Deadline.

“The vehicle was engulfed in flames and the driver was transported to a local hospital by the LAFD,” police said. Los Angeles Police Department public information officer Jeff Lee told CNN that Heche was in critical condition.

The house itself was also engulfed, with flames spreading to the roof.

“Fifty-nine firefighters took 65 minutes to access, contain and completely extinguish the stubborn flames in the heavily damaged structure,” said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Several local outlets later confirmed that the blue Mini Clubman involved in the incident was registered with Heche.

Helicopter footage from Fox11 News shows the car did indeed enter the house and may have hit one of its side walls.

Fox11’s eye in the sky, Stu Mandel, who often follows chases and crashes from the air, described the scene as it unfolded beneath him.

As firefighters used the cables of a huge tow truck to pull the car out of the burning house, the charred leader of the vehicle, Mandel, a veteran of many such incidents, observed: “If there is someone living in there, it will be a miracle. .”

The person turns out to be alive, and firefighters put the victim on a stretcher with their face covered, and rush them into a waiting ambulance. Just before arriving at the emergency vehicle, the person on the stretcher sits down and tries to get out.

“Oh my God!” said Mandel, who at the time thought the driver was a man. “He is completely alive! He was trying to run away.

Moments later, after paramedics had the victim loaded into the ambulance, a shocked Mandel said, “I don’t know. It was really, really odd.”

According to TMZ, Heche first had a minor accident at an apartment complex in the Mar Vista area, crashing into a wall in a parking lot, but she drove away from the scene. The accident in the house happened shortly after.

Heche has several ongoing projects. In June, she signed with Lifetime’s Girl in room 13, set to premiere this fall. She is also set to star alongside Dermot Mulroney in Full ride, an upcoming horror thriller and will recur in All Rise on CLEAN. Heche recently starred in the psychological thriller directed by Peter Facinelli The disappeared for Netflix, as well as Quiver’s tornado thriller 13 Minutes.
